The Village Panchayat of Betalbatim is situated in the Salcete Taluka of South Goa District. The Panchayat consists of 7 wards and has 7 elected representatives. (Male 05, Female 02).
The Panchayat jurisdiction has a Government Primary School, and a Diocesan Society School. There is one Rural Medical Dispensary (RMD), one Electricity Office, Telephone Exchange (BSNL), Post Office, Talathi’s Office, Visionaries (Payment of Water and Electricity bills), all within the premises of Village Panchayat Betalbatim. The distance between the main hospital (Hospicio Hospital, Margao) and the Panchayat is 7 kms. The major source of income for the Panchayat is the house tax, fees, other grants and Trade Tax.
